Mommy

Everyday I pick up the kids at school and I hold each of their little hands. I love to hold their hands.. even though they are getting big.. I will always want to hold their hands.

One day I heard a little girl call out "mommy". Instinctively I turned. It hit me then that MY name is "mommy" and that's why I turned... but so is the women in front of me and the one behind me.

As women we are blessed with the very same name once we give birth to these little miracles. Not only do we carry them and get to know them in our tummy's for nine months but we instinctively respond to our name "mommy" once they are old enough to say it. What a lovely name.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

1 2/3 c flour

1 c. sugar

1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup plain canned pumpkin

1 stick butter, melted

6 oz. milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.

In an electric mixer beat the eggs.

Add pumpkin and butter.

Mix well, but do not over mix.

Add the dry ingredients a little at a time and mix.

Add chocolate chips.

Bake for about 25 minutes

I made the most scrumptious Pumpkin Cookies tonight! YUM.

Pumpkin Cookies with Cream Cheese Icing
Adapted from allrecipes
Yield: 24 Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup butter flavored shortening
1 cup unsalted butter; softened
2 cups white sugar
2 cups canned pumpkin (solid; not pie mix)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour

Directions
1. Cream shortening, butter, white sugar and pumpkin. Add eggs and mix well.
2. Sift together the baking soda, ground cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, salt and flour. Add to pumpkin mixture and mix well.
3. Drop from spoon to cookie sheet. Bake 13-15 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cream Cheese Icing

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (extract will also work)
2 tablespoons milk

Method
Mix the cream cheese with the butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a bowl. Heat in a microwave for 15 seconds. Drizzle spoonfuls over the cooled cookies and smooth with the back of a spoon or a spatula.

Go make them!! I think I'm going to be sick... I ate about ten!

I haven't been focusing much on the business this last year... We relocated and the lazy days of summer had me! But I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. I'm ready for some big changes at Bella-Gigi.

Looking into some new fabrics and designs and I might just take the leap and get back to work full time! Of course, when the kiddies go back to school full time! YEAH!!!!

Everything is on SALE to make room for the new inventory. I will NOT be keeping any of the current frabics in stock. Once they are gone they are gone. I want to start fresh!
